JUNE ABS MONTHLY CHALLENGE, a photo by Klassy Joolz on Flickr.
This is my entry for June....Nighthawks (1942) by Edward Hopper
Oil on canvas, 33 1⁄8 in × 60 in
The beautiful Artisan Lampwork focal bead is similar to the oblong shape of the Diner and picks up the rusts, browns and greys of the scene. Lampwork disc beads are the bar stool tops. The round Freshwater Pearls also pull the browns from the picture and the dull smoothness of the surfaces. The sterling silver bead caps add the slight hint of the silver in the Diner as well. Could the rough edges of the Keishi Pearls be symbolic of the Night Hawks nose?

The necklace is beautiful. I love how you pulled different elements from the painting and found beads that resembled them. I have to say, I'm loving the keishi pearls - they add some real drama to the design.
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! I, too, love keishi pearls!
DeleteI'm with Heather, those keishi pearls really pull your eye the whole way around and make the necklace come alive. Very slick!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much...I think kesihi pearls are so great, too!
